Protection for the entire face can come from a detachable face shield, such as the Jackson “The Shield,” or a full face plastic shield, such as an Uvex bionic face shield. Detachable face shields, held in place by a visor and brackets, are only a secondary form of protection. Primary protection should come from a pair of safety goggles or glasses. Not all shields are for chemical and electrical protection. Those which serve as a forestry screen do not meet eyewear standards and should be worn with additional safety goggles or glasses.
Our visors and brackets are made by such brands are MSA, North, Jackson, Uvex, Bullard, and Fibre Metal. With the exception of the Uvex bionic face shield, all combinations of visors, brackets, and face shields should be used with a pair of safety glasses and goggles. Most are used in situations of chemical and electrical applications and offer at least light impact protection. Visors and brackets can fit under a hard hat or not depending upon the size and shape.
