Safety Work Gloves

For all working conditions and environments, we carry safety work gloves in leather, fabric and cotton, Kevlar, rubber, and nitrile. Our website is divided up by materials, industry, and conditions in purchasing gloves. Whether you work inside a food processing plant, are a welder, or work outside during the winter, we have multiple pairs of safety gloves to fit your working conditions.

Mechanics gloves may look like racer gloves, but they work best to prevent cuts and abrasions and keep out oil. Mechanix Wear, the most durable of mechanics gloves, was introduced in 1991 specifically for professional racers, but they now are commonly used by mechanics. Known as “The Tool That Fits Like a Glove,” Mechanix Wear gloves have a synthetic leather palm and fingertips and include Clarino OW-927 material for water and oil resistance. A similar but cheaper brand is Best Answer, safety gloves nitrile-laminated for puncture and abrasion resistance.

We carry safety gloves specifically for the welding industry. Our most popular makers are Tillman and Rawhyde Frontier. All types are made from cowhide and insulated with cotton foam. For strength in hot temperatures, the welding gloves have a layer of flame retardant cushioning or liner and will be strung together with Kevlar threads.

In less extreme work environments, such as in a factory or food processing plant, we carry general purpose safety gloves made from leather, PVC, and nitrile-coated cotton. Generally, these types of work gloves are best suited to such industries as assembly, general and auto manufacturing, maintenance, and food handling. In some cases, especially if your job requires repetitive motion, our general safety gloves are equipped with a nitrile three-dimensional stretch feature to reduce hand fatigue. For outdoor work, our general safety gloves have high visibility strips for truck drivers and road workers.

In the winter and wet times of the year, water and cold resistant safety gloves are necessary. Our cold weather safety gloves made by Tillman and Artic Jack are made from a fleece and cowhide (or pig grain) combination. The cowhide protects the palm and keeps out wetness, while the fleece material on top keeps out the cold. For more water resistance, the winter safety gloves can be insulated with a vinyl liner.

When your hands should not be coming in contact with food or cleaning solvents, disposable safety gloves made from rubber, polyethylene, or nitrile work best. For industries like food handling and processing, household cleaning, janitorial, inspection, and lab and repair work, disposable gloves are necessary and, for the instances of handling food, must comply with USDA and FDA standards. All of our disposable gloves, regardless of material, have these features. For those allergic to latex, our nitrile work gloves provide more puncture resistance and eliminate allergic reactions to rubber latex proteins.

All our work gloves are from top suppliers like Wells Lamont, Carhartt, MSA, and North. For more information on OSHA and ANSI regulations, please visit our Safety laws page.
