A portable gas detector is necessary in such industrial settings to assure businesses that operating conditions are safe and to also make sure that areas that are not or cannot be routinely monitored are safe when in use. Our gas detectors pick up a range of chemicals including oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, phosphine, chlorine gas, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia and hydrogen cyanide.
Single gas detectors can monitor one gas at a time, whether oxygen or a toxic gas, with SureCell and Reflex technologies. MSA’s single gas models, Altair and Altair Pro, also contain an alarm and allow its data to be transferred to a computer.
Multi-gas detectors can detect multiple gases at once, sometimes even four at a time. Some can be configured for flammable single gas protection or any combination of O2, LEL, CO, and H2S gases.
