Discount Safety Gear guarantees effective hard hat head protection for less! Our website has a wide range of aluminum hard hats, wide brim hard hats, cowboy hard hats, and custom hard hats. We carry a huge stock of almost every hard hat made by MSA V-Gard, North, Bullard, Pyramex, Vulcan, Jackson, and Fibre Metal.
Depending on the type of hard hat, each hat belongs to Class E, G, or C. For differentiation, the classes indicate the amount of voltage a hard hat will protect against. Class E, or electrical, will protect up to 20,000 volts, and Class G, or general, protects up to 2200 volts. Class C, or conductive, offers no electrical protection. Aside from electrical protection, a hard hat can come in stronger and lightweight safety grades in regards to the materials being used and the work environment. For example, the Fibre Metal SUPEREIGHT model, the forerunner in protective hard hat technology, can be used in mining, forestry, and utilities work environments. Lightweight hard hats, such as bump caps, are best worn in a less strenuous work environment where the worker will not experience blows to the back of the head.
Every hard hat offering the strongest protection are made from Polyethylene or High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). For workers who will be working in the sun all day, some of our hard hats have a full brim to protect against UV rays, and, in the case of the Pyramex New Cap hard hat, the brim also offers a rain trough feature. Other specific outdoor features on our hard hats are four- or six-point standard suspension and thermal plastic with air holes.
