MSA Topgard hard hats are lightweight and durable and built for use by utilities and other industries where head protection from falling objects is necessary, along with good dielectric properties. Limited resistance to top impact or penetration is retained through a wide range of temperatures.

MSA Topgard hard hats meet or exceed the applicable requirements for a Type I (top impact) hard hat as outlined in ANSI Z89.1-2003, Class E. ANSI Type I helmets meet stringent vertical impact and penetration requirements. Topgard hard hats are not specifically designed to protect against lateral blows from the front, side or rear. MSA recommends replacing hard hats and caps every 60 months and suspensions every 12 months.
