As with any infectious disease, it is important to keep your hands covered at all times while dealing with someone who is infected. It’s important to avoid contact with bodily fluids of any person and do not handle items that may have come into contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids. Do not touch bats or nonhuman primates – there is a risk that they can carry EVD. All gloves must be impermeable. Please take precaution when going out into public areas; germs are easily spread on tangible items, such as; door knobs, escalators, buttons, etc.
*A double layer of gloves provides the most protection when donning and doffing PPE gear.
