What are the uses of latex gloves? Medical Examination, Industrial and more...

Latex gloves offer you protection in work environments that demand a lot from the user. They have become one of the most commonly used gloves both in the food service industry and within the medical community. Their ability to protect against bacteria, viruses and other contaminates along with the spread of these is ranked as some of the highest in their field. This makes latex gloves a go to for medical and dental offices and restaurants around the world.

Disposable latex gloves are affordable and are an ideal choice for a number of tasks. Couple this with their elasticity and natural form fitting wear, latex gloves offer tremendous dexterity and work well in jobs or tasks that require the user to have a decent amount of precision, accuracy and delicacy.

Being made out of a form of natural rubber, latex is in fact biodegradable. While this does give them a shorter shelf life than their vinyl or nitrile glove counterparts that are made of synthetic materials, it does ensure you that your latex gloves once used and thrown away will eventually decompose.

It should be noted that while latex gloves provide incredible comfort and fit, they can have some downfalls that you should be aware of. Latex in and of itself can be susceptible to puncturing, which can cause holes, thus rendering the glove useless. Latex does also struggle with certain chemicals, such as solvents that can also cause deterioration. This should be kept in mind when deciding to purchase your bulk order of latex gloves, essentially, you'll want to be sure your users are going to take caution when using their latex gloves with sharp tools and around different compounds. Latex does also have a certain protein within it that can cause allergies for some. This just gives you another thing to consider when purchasing latex gloves.

We do offer latex gloves in a variety of different thicknesses and sizes, so you can be sure to get the right glove for the right job for the right user. Thinner gloves offer protection and are suitable for medical and dental examinations and light duty tasks, while some thicker gloves will be better suited for heavier jobs that require a little extra strength.

Latex gloves provide a barrier between the user's skin, contaminates and other potentially contaminated surfaces. Wearing these reduces the risk of transmitting bacteria and viruses as well as other harmful materials. This is absolutely essential in the medical field between the patient and health care providers as it protects both parties from potentially spreading infectious diseases. Disposable latex gloves also offer a reduced risk in cross contamination when it comes to medical tools and supplies.

These can also be used in the food service industry to protect the user and customers from the transmission of harmful microorganisms. They can be used to prevent cross contamination and are an extra layer of protection between the worker and the product they are preparing. This will help keep foodborne illnesses and other nasty things out of the kitchen and the dining room.

Overall, disposable latex gloves are a convenient and effective way to protect oneself and others from the spread of bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants. They are an essential part of protecting against the spread of infection and food borne illnesses in the medical and food service industries, and their affordability and convenience make them a great choice for most people in these industries and for many tasks.

What is difference and which is better latex, vinyl or nitrile gloves?

The main differences between latex, vinyl and nitrile gloves comes down to a couple different things. This is going to include what they are made of and what they are used for.

Latex is a natural derivative of the rubber tree and in turn is a natural resource and also biodegradable. This does give it some advantages as well as disadvantages. An advantage would be is latex gloves will eventually decompose after they have been thrown away to where their vinyl and nitrile counterparts, which are synthetic or man-made materials will not. A disadvantage of latex gloves is not everyone can use them. A main byproduct of latex is the fact that it has a protein within it present that has been known to cause allergies and is an allergen to certain people. However, latex gloves do offer a better fit in most cases and give the user a little more dexterity or use of their hands. Vinyl gloves do not offer as much in regard to fit, but nitrile is close. Latex gloves are often used in restaurants as well as medical and dental offices.

Vinyl and Nitrile gloves on the other hand are made out of synthetic materials. This gives them the advantage that they will last considerably longer than latex, however they do come with their own set of pros and cons. Vinyl gloves are made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and are often used for low-risk tasks and in situations where gloves need to be changed frequently. They are not equipped to be used with hazardous materials and the fit on which does leave something to be desired. This would be something to keep in mind as to what kind of work is going to be done with what kind of gloves. Vinyl gloves are best suited for low dexterity work, meaning jobs that do not require extreme accuracy and or precision. Vinyl gloves are a primary choice for restaurants, salons, factories and other places that need a high-volume of gloves for low-risk tasks.

Nitrile gloves are becoming more and more popular across the board thanks to their strength and flexibility within these fields. They are made out of a synthetic material, acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber which in turn is made from fossil fuels. This isn't such great news for the environment; however, they do offer more resistance to harder chemicals, punctures, tearing and holes. While not as comfortable as latex, these do have more stretch and durability than vinyl. Nitrile gloves do also last 3 to 5 times longer than latex gloves but suffer a bit from their lack of sensitivity.

As far as figuring out which glove is better is going to be based on what you primarily plan on using your disposable gloves for. Latex gloves offer heightened sensitivity, high dexterity and a tight fit, making them a great choice for anyone who needs to be precise when using and protecting their hands, such as in doctor's and dentist's offices. While vinyl gloves are a cost-effective option that can work well in low-risk environments where glove changes need to be frequent, and dexterity isn't much of an issue. These are fit for restaurants, delis and salons. Nitrile gloves are a great choice where hazardous materials may be present and where strength and durability is of the utmost. This makes nitrile gloves an ideal choice for tattoo parlors, custodial services and mechanic shops.
