Half face and full face respirators can be worn during chemical exposures, clean-up processes, or industrial applications. It is important that all reusable equipment is intricately cleaned and decontaminated after each use. Any surfaces that may have bodily fluids on them must be cleaned as soon as possible to reduce spreading the infection. A 0.5% chlorine solution or 1,000ppm available free chlorine can be used to clean respirators or equipment (specified by WHO). After disinfecting, all gear should be fully rinsed with clean water to remove any lingering chemicals. All respirators should be thoroughly dried before using again.
**Processes that include ethylene oxide, radiation, or steam will damage respirators and should not be used under any circumstance.
