Safety Shoes, Womens Safety Boots and Slip-on Boots
We have a wide selection of work boots
at our ConstructionGear.com store, including men's work boots, womens work boots, by Caterpillar, Carolina, Wolverine and
Carhartt. We offer steel toe work boots,
insulated work boots and rubber work boots.
Our discount safety work boots come in three types: steel toe, non-steel toe, and slip resistant. All safety boots are waterproof, insulated, or both and most meet ASTM safety ratings.
Steel toe safety boots comprise most of the work boots in our store. Steel toe boots come in both waterproof and insulated varieties. In addition to a steel toe, the boots have inside protection with a polyurethane foot bed and Dry-Lex lining to keep the foot cool and dry. Outside, the safety boot is made from waterproof leather. In addition, logger boots are specific steel toe boots used in the toughest outdoor conditions.
Most steel toe boots also have an electrical safety rating compliant with ASTM. Some, such as logger boots, have better traction provided by a Vibram 360 Logger outsole. An Endurance Cross Wire outsole makes the boot heat, oil, and gas-slip resistant. For additional protection for certain working conditions, some boots have a metatarsal guard or come in a smaller design for hiking.
Non-steel toe boots appear similar on the outside to steel toe boots and still are waterproof, insulated, and electrical resistant. A steel toe is not necessary in all industries, however, and often boots made for fishing, hunting, and any type of wet weather will not be made with a steel toe option. In addition, hiking boots, even for cold and snowy conditions, are not always made with a steel toe design.
Slip-resistant shoes are self explanatory. Whether as a boot or an overshoe, a slip-resistant sole is specific for well-designed treading and improved footing in tough weather conditions. NEOS Explorer STABLicers, for example, are mid-size overshoes that, in addition to providing traction in the snow, are the only non-steel toe shoe with ice traction. Boots for excellent traction outdoors in cold weather are often a combination of a rubber boot and a leather shoe, for both protection from wet weather conditions and enough traction to not slip.
