In a noisy work environment, hearing protection is a necessity. All of our disposable and reusable earplugs and muffs have a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) that indicates how powerful the plug or muff will be.
Most of our disposable earplugs come in boxes or dispensers and are made from non-toxic and non-irritating material. We carry the Howard Leight Max Corded earplug which has the highest NRR rating in the US at 33. For a work environment with noise but in which you’ll still need to hear communication from your coworkers, the Moldex Traffic Cone earplugs are in small, foam traffic cone shapes that block noise but also allow you to hear your coworkers. In addition to traditional cylindrical earplugs, like the EAR Classic foam yellow earplug, we also carry MultiMax, a two-sizes-in-one earplug that allows the wearer to choose from pointed and rounded plug ends.
Reusable earplugs often come with a band that will fit under a hard hat, below a chin, or behind a head. Most of these models are not inserted into the ear canal but rest outside the opening while still blocking out excessive sounds. However, we also carry silicone-filled earplugs that will mold into the shape of the ear canal once inserted.
Ear muffs block out sound by going around and cupping the ear. For our most economical models, the cups are made with styrene and attached to a light headband. Sometimes, both the headband and ear pads are padded to decrease fatigue while wearing all day. On our website, the earmuffs are sorted by name.
